I would add the converse of #8. If you’re on the train and pulling into Grand Central at rush hour and you want to get off, wait until the people nearest to the door get off first. You are not the only person getting off jackass.
Also, people on a crowded train that lean against the pole will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.
It isn’t a rule, as much as a strategy, but pre-walking is essential.
