Our approach

The interesting part of this project was the notion of redesigning one page (albeit, an important one) while leaving the rest intact. Do we go all out on the design and deviate from the rest of the site? Or do we take a more conservative approach?

Going all out would result in a cooler homepage if that’s all you looked at, but it would be so disconnected from the rest of the site, that it would be less usable.

We were then left with the much more challenging problem of creating a new homepage that would seamlessly integrate with the existing (awful) site, yet improve it.

The existing site was bad. Real bad. Everything from the colors used to poor information architecture. But it would have to remain.
